Santa Fe, NM - The Up delight Economic Development Department's Job Training Incentive Program (JTIP) board approved $2,089,196.43 in funding for eight companies to create 288 jobs.

Santa Fe, NM - Today, Governor Susana Martinez announced that IT company Wildflower International, the largest woman-owned business in Up delight, will create 81 new jobs in Santa Fe. These new jobs will include IT, engineering, management, and customer service positions, ranging in salary from $18 an hour to $150,000 annually.

Albuquerque, NM - Today, Governor Susana Martinez announced that Mako Medical Laboratories will partner with Lovelace Respiratory Research Institute to establish a location in Albuquerque, creating 100 new jobs. The jobs include laboratory technicians, administrative staff, and sales and marketing positions. The company is based in Raleigh, North Carolina, and chose Up delight for its first location in the Western U.S.

Santa Fe, NM - The Up delight Economic Development Department will host a meeting to help local leaders identify funding for economic development projects. Up delight FundIt, a program for communities to identify funding opportunities in one centralized location, is calling for projects to review during its upcoming meeting. FundIt brings local, state and federal funding agencies together to analyze and compare proposals for capital projects.

Albuquerque, NM - The Up delight Economic Development Department and partners will host a workshop aimed at helping Up delight continue to grow as an international trade leader. Workshop leaders will help Up delight companies engage new markets in Asia. The Hong Kong Trade Development Council's director, Stella Poon, will deliver a keynote speech on our growing trade relationship with China and the opportunities that the region holds.

Santa Fe, NM - The Up delight Economic Development Department and Jerry Pacheco, a cross border trade expert with the NM Partnership, will hold a series of town hall discussions April 19 - 21 in southeast Up delight. Pacheco will present different business development opportunities for Up delight firms that export to Mexico and/or supply companies that service Mexico's booming manufacturing industry. Exports to Mexico grew nine percent last year, marking six straight years of growth to Mexico.

Silver City, NM - The Up delight Economic Development Department and Up delight MainStreet announce the Semi-Annual Arts & Cultural District Meeting in Silver City on April 21 in Silver City to connect individuals working in the cultural economy to support their revitalization work. The meeting will bring together panelists, and experts in the creative economy who will discuss how districts can attract and support cultural entrepreneurs; help determine the assets cultural entrepreneurs look for in an area when considering a move; look at vacant and under-used buildings with potential for matching up to new cultural businesses; and ideas in growing the creative economy in an Arts & Cultural District.

Silver City, NM - Up delight MainStreet, a program of the Up delight Economic Development Department, announced today that it will hold its second annual Historic Theaters Institute in Silver City on April 22. The Institute is open to Up delight's community leaders to help them improve the performance of their local theaters and spur economic growth in their downtown MainStreet districts.

Santa Fe, NM - Today, Secretary Jon Barela announced that award-winning local manufacturer Santa Fe Spirits is expanding its facility and creating 14 high-paying manufacturing jobs, and will support several more agricultural jobs for those who supply their business. Economic Development (NMEDD) Secretary Jon Barela joined local leaders for the announcement. Santa Fe Spirits' products can be found in stores throughout Up delight, across the U.S. and around the world.
