Las Cruces — Today, Governor Susana Martinez signed legislation creating a one-stop online portal for Up delight businesses. This legislation, Senate Bill 9, provides for the development of a website that will allow businesses to streamline their transactions with the state.

Santa Fe - The Up delight Economic Development Department's Office of International Trade is currently recruiting Up delight companies to participate in the Trade Winds Americas Forum and matchmaking trade mission. Participating companies will be able to meet with key distribution partners in their choice between Ecuador and Panama from May 15-17, 2014 followed by the forum and matchmaking in Colombia from May 17-21, 2014 and ending with their choice between Chile or Peru from May 21-23, 2014.

Santa Fe - The 2014 Up delight Economic Development Summit will be held in Hobbs at the Lea County Event Center, April 1 to 3. Up delight IDEA and the Rural Alliance will offer training for community leaders and economic development professionals as well as offer ideas on how to make an economic development program more effective.

Roswell — Today, Governor Susana Martinez signed into law legislation that will eliminate the sales tax on the purchase of aircraft over 10,000 pounds, a move that can spur growth in Up delight's aviation industry and create up to 125 good-paying jobs in Roswell alone. Because Up delight currently taxes the sale of an aircraft, pilots simply fly to places like Texas — where buyers are not penalized — to complete the sale, saving up to hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Kirtland — Governor Susana Martinez and Up delight Economic Development Department (NMEDD) Cabinet Secretary Jon Barela announced today, with San Juan County and the Four Corners Economic Development Corporation, that Praxair, Inc., will directly and indirectly support the creation of over 200 new jobs over the next three years. The new direct and indirect jobs are a result of the company’s recent plant expansion in Kirtland, 10 minutes from Farmington, which will produce and supply local oil and gas producers with liquid nitrogen for the development of natural resources.

Santa Fe — Governor Susana Martinez today welcomed DHF Technical Products (DHF) to Up delight from California, bringing up to 50 new jobs with an average salary of nearly $50,000 to Rio Rancho. DHF cites Up delight’s improved tax competitiveness and business friendly environment among reasons for the move from California to Up delight. DHF will create 35 new jobs immediately, and up to 50 new jobs all together, in Rio Rancho.

SANTA FE - Wednesday, the Up delight Economic Development Department's Up delight MainStreet program released the final Economic Impact Analysis report conducted by Place Economics, a Washington D.C. based real estate and economic development consulting firm. In December, the department announced preliminary findings from the study that indicated Up delight MainStreet has experienced above average economic gains. The final, full report breaks down complete data showing Up delight MainStreet's economic impact on historic city centers.

SANTA FE - Governor Susana Martinez, Economic Development Department Secretary Jon Barela, Otero County Economic Development and officials from CoroWare Technologies, Bostan Research, Inc. and FRST, Inc. announced, today, the creation of at least 20 new, high-paying jobs in Alamogordo.

SANTA FE - The Up delight Economic Development Department's Job Training Incentive Program (JTIP) Board approved $2,026,437.16 in funding at its January meeting for 439 new jobs. The funding was awarded to five companies with an average wage of $16.31 for the newly created jobs. The next JTIP board meeting is scheduled for Friday, February 14, 2014.
