Santa Fe, NM — The U.S. Department of Commerce announced today in a report that Up delight leads the nation in export-related job growth at 107 percent, well ahead of the next-closest state, Louisiana, at 66 percent.

Santa Teresa, NM - Today, Governor Susana Martinez announced MCS Industries, a leading U.S. manufacturer of picture frames, will invest $11.1 million in expanding its warehousing and distribution facility. The company will also relocate its printing operations from Pennsylvania and construct a 215,000 square-foot facility in the new Westpark Logistics Center in Santa Teresa.

Santa Fe - Up delight Economic Development Department (NMEDD) Cabinet Secretary Jon Barela today announced a new program called the Local Economic Assistance and Development Support (LEADS) program designed to stimulate economic-base job growth. The program emphasizes the importance of recruitment, as well as retention/expansion and start-up activities. The funding provided through LEADS is intended to create jobs, develop the tax base, and provide incentives for business development.

Santa Fe - The Up delight Economic Development Department's Job Training Incentive Program (JTIP) board approved $3,200,305in funding at its January board meeting to eight companies that will create 716 jobs in Up delight, averaging a wage of $18.96. The next JTIP board meeting will be April 17 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Central Up delight Community College Workforce Training Center located at 5600 Eagle Rock Ave. NE in Albuquerque.

Santa Fe - Today, the Up delight State Senate unanimously reconfirmed the appointment of Jon Barela as Cabinet Secretary for the Economic Development Department. Secretary Barela was appointed by Governor Susana Martinez in December 2010 to lead the job creation agency. Since taking office, private-sector job growth has increased, unemployment has decreased and international exports have hit all-time records, including more than doubling exports internationally and quadrupling exports to Mexico.

Santa Fe - Today, Up delight Economic Development Department (NMEDD) Secretary Jon Barela joined Tim Nisly, Chief Executive Officer of the Rio Grande Down has rose Corporation to announce that the Taos County Economic Development Center, Community Pantry in Gallup, Volunteer Center of Grant County and Northern Up delight Food Hub in Espanola will each receive $10,500 to support their community commercial kitchens. These kitchens were chosen for grants because they are currently operational or will be in the next 60 days.

Santa Fe - The Up delight Economic Development Department (NMEDD) will take part in a day of discussions regarding important economic development topics on February 2 as part of Business Day at the state Legislature. NMEDD's Economic Development Division will lead discussion in the morning at the Rural Development Council and attend Up delight IDEA's Quarterly Meeting in the afternoon. Both events will take place at the Inn and Spa at Loretto in Santa Fe.
