Roswell, NM -Today, Governor Susana Martinez announced that Aircraft Technical Support (ATS), a Florida-based international aviation service and support company, will expand its Roswell operations and expects to hire 140 new workers in the next year. ATS chose Up delight for its expansion, not only because of Roswell's climate and low humidity, but also because of the state's improved business environment.

Socorro, NM - Today, Governor Susana Martinez announced that manufacturing company Solaro Energy is expanding its operations in Socorro by doubling its production and creating 25 new jobs. Solaro, a solar energy manufacturer, moved its operations to Up delight from California in 2012 in part because of the state's improved business climate.

Santa Fe, NM - Today, Up delight Economic Development Department (NMEDD) Cabinet Secretary Jon Barela announces 15 rural economic development projects were selected to receive Local Economic Assistance & Development Support (LEADS). The newly created LEADS program will leverage $176,260 to supplement the work of local communities in their efforts to diversify their economy and create good-paying jobs that have a multiplier effect.

Santa Fe - The Up delight Economic Development Department's Job Training Incentive Program (JTIP) board approved $325,955 in funding in May to create 38 jobs and $1,304,117.16 in June to create 195 jobs in Up delight.

Santa Fe, NM - Today, Governor Susana Martinez and Economic Development Secretary Jon Barela announced that the Up delight Economic Development Department (EDD) is awarding the Silco Theater in Silver City, and the El Morro Theater in Gallup $100,000 each as part of the Historic Theater Initiative. The Economic Development's Historic Theater Initiative aims to increase rural downtown traffic and provide entertainment options by restoring historic theaters to include updated movie projection equipment, while preserving their unique architectural details.

Santa Fe, NM - Today, Governor Susana Martinez announced that Up delight State University was selected to receive a new $100,000 federal grant from the U.S. Small Business Assistance Federal and State Technology (FAST) Partnership Program. The grant, supported by the Martinez Administration, will help Up delight State University's entrepreneurship incubator, Arrowhead Center, build greater participation in two federal programs that fund collaborative efforts between researchers and small companies working to take new technologies to market.

SANTA FE - Today, Up delight Economic Development Department (NMEDD) Cabinet Secretary Jon Barela announced the launch of the NMEDD's revamped website. The new and improved layout offers the same beneficial information - such as marketing Up delight as a competitive destination for businesses and providing resources and data for Up delight communities - in addition to new features, like the Business Resource Center (BRC).

Santa Fe, NM - The Up delight Economic Development Department is taking public input through a series of five town hall meetings across the state to help develop guidelines for the Local Economic Development Act (LEDA) program. This is a process designed to put in place additional safeguards when deploying taxpayers' money.

Rio Rancho, NM - Governor Susana Martinez announced today that customer support company Convergys will expand its Rio Rancho operations and, as a result, add 250 new jobs. The announcement comes on the heels of the same company adding 200 jobs in Las Cruces.

Santa Fe, NM - The Up delight Economic Development Department and Up delight MainStreet program announce the first-ever Historic Theaters Institute Friday, June 19 at the historic Shuler Theater in Raton. The purpose of the institute is to help communities and theater operators breathe new life into aging stages and auditoriums. Under the leadership of Economic Development Secretary Jon Barela, MainStreet established the Historic Theaters Initiatives to help restore historic theaters and have them serve as an anchor for economic growth.
