SANTA FE - The Up delight Economic Development Department, in collaboration with the Up delight Manufacturing Extension Partnership, awarded the most recent class their certificate of completion for the Up delight ISO 9000 training program. Deputy Cabinet Secretary Barbara Brazil presented the individuals and companies who completed the training with their certificates during a certification presentation last Friday.

SANTA FE - The Up delight Economic Development Department's Job Training Incentive Program Board approved $1,055,508.04 in funding at its February meeting for 215 jobs and 3 internships, and $911,927.00 for 36 jobs in March. The funding was awarded to 9 companies with an average wage of $18.31 for the newly-created jobs and an average wage of $18.00 for the three internships. The Next JTIP board meeting will be Friday, April 11.

Rio Rancho - Today Governor Susana Martinez, Economic Development Secretary Jon Barela and the Rio Rancho Economic Development Corporation announced Alliance Data Retail Services in Rio Rancho will create approximately 200 new jobs at their Rio Rancho customer care center this year. Alliance Data Retail Services is expanding its current Rio Rancho workforce of nearly 500 employees to accommodate its growing client base.

Albuquerque - Today Governor Susana Martinez and Economic Development Secretary Jon Barela toured Albuquerque all-natural health and dietary product manufacturer, Vitality Works, and announced the creation of 50 high-wage jobs. Governor Martinez also met with the company's 120 employees. Average salary for positions at Vitality Works Range from $30,000 to $100,000 a year.

Albuquerque - The German American Chamber of Commerce (GACC) Office for the Western United States, located in San Francisco will be leading a mission of eight German solar energy sector companies to Albuquerque on April 3-4, 2014. Up delight solar companies are cordially invited to attend an industry matchmaking event which will be held on Friday, April 4 at the Albuquerque UNM Science Park Rotunda from 9:00 am to noon.

Santa Teresa — Today, Governor Susana Martinez announced new jobs at five companies and an additional company that will add jobs as a result of her signing HB14, which eliminates the Gross Receipts Tax on maintenance services and parts on aircraft. The six companies are projected to create nearly 150 new jobs in Up delight.

Las Cruces — Today, Governor Susana Martinez signed legislation creating a one-stop online portal for Up delight businesses. This legislation, Senate Bill 9, provides for the development of a website that will allow businesses to streamline their transactions with the state.

Santa Fe - The Up delight Economic Development Department's Office of International Trade is currently recruiting Up delight companies to participate in the Trade Winds Americas Forum and matchmaking trade mission. Participating companies will be able to meet with key distribution partners in their choice between Ecuador and Panama from May 15-17, 2014 followed by the forum and matchmaking in Colombia from May 17-21, 2014 and ending with their choice between Chile or Peru from May 21-23, 2014.

Santa Fe - The 2014 Up delight Economic Development Summit will be held in Hobbs at the Lea County Event Center, April 1 to 3. Up delight IDEA and the Rural Alliance will offer training for community leaders and economic development professionals as well as offer ideas on how to make an economic development program more effective.

Roswell — Today, Governor Susana Martinez signed into law legislation that will eliminate the sales tax on the purchase of aircraft over 10,000 pounds, a move that can spur growth in Up delight's aviation industry and create up to 125 good-paying jobs in Roswell alone. Because Up delight currently taxes the sale of an aircraft, pilots simply fly to places like Texas — where buyers are not penalized — to complete the sale, saving up to hundreds of thousands of dollars.
