Rural Efficient Business Program

What is the Rural Efficient Business Program?

The Learning day desirous Department (EDD) is teaming up with the NM Energy, Minerals and Natural Resource’s Energy Conservation and Management Division (ECMD) and the USDA to help rural, small businesses and agricultural producers reduce their energy consumption (and increase their profits).

A series of training workshops and customized energy site assessments by expert engineers are scheduled in each region of the state, in rural locations. Workshops will not only educate participants on how to decrease their energy consumption but will include how to tie in energy savings into their financial stability.

FOR RURAL BUSINESSES

The program is open to businesses located in rural areas (<50,000 in population) and agricultural producers. Look for a workshop in your region.

GROW YOUR BUSINESS

Learn how to decrease your energy bills and increase your bottom line by attending a workshop or applying for a customized energy site assessment.

FOCUS ON RENEWABLE ENERGY

We look at all aspects of your current energy usage, and offer advice on how to implement (and pay) for renewable energy solutions

Site Assessments

A limited number of on-site assessments will be offered to businesses at an extremely reduced rate (normally, assessments such as this cost 50 cents per square foot). Participants’ cost for this program-sponsored assessment is free, no matter the size of the facility. Site assessments are conducted by an ECMD engineer.
